Why Tiered Broadband Is the Enemy of Innovation – GigaOM: “I like the opening sentence”
“Om Malik, Wednesday, June 4, 2008 — It should come as no surprise: Incumbents are beginning to act like incumbents. But while the cable companies are the first ones to jump on the tiered broadband bandwagon, they won’t be the last.”
Om discusses why a 250GB/month data-cap may not be enough. That’s a lot, but I can see needing that in the next few years. I have a 100GB monthly data cap w/ Shaw.ca which I easily live within, but the old 50GB cap was tuff to live with.
