yahoo mail is breaking: yahoo to shaw and now verizon!

My yahoo mail just gets worse 👿 I replied to a blog comment from my yahoo account to the verizon domain. It failed. Wow! Shaw.ca and now Verizon.com are unreachable from my yahoo mail.

On my continuing saga. Yahoo to Shaw still doesn’t work for me. On the plus side — I did get an e-mail thru, but it took 2 days ( my march 7th test was received today).

very nice web site. My English is not so good, so I do not understandt it well, but it seems very good. Thanks

I’m having the problem in reverse, receiving a 5.1.1 pop-up error when trying to send an email from a Verizon account to a Yahoo account today (3/25/08), using Thunderbird. That problem just started today. What’s going on?

Richard, I have been getting the same message when sending to yahoo. However, when I tried sending a mail to the same address using Verizon’s webmail, it worked fine. I was on the live chat support at Verizon for an hour or so, and that was no help. I wonder if Yahoo changed something..

Hi Richard and Matt. My ISP Shaw.ca told me that they were actively blocking misbehaving Yahoo servers. The exact text is in this post https://hnorth.wordpress.com/2008/02/29/re-yahoo-to-shaw-e-mail-problems/

From Shaw.ca comments I can only speculate that the good news is that Yahoo-Plus accounts are on different servers than regular Yahoo accounts. The bad news is that there are alot of spam account in Yahoo plus. Thus the “server” starts to look bad to other ISPs.

Anyways. I was without service to shaw.ca for a month. the bounces often took a few days to return. I’ve switched to gmail as my primary account.
