This is Marketing is a great summary and synthesis of the “huge” topic of Marketing. The book is a summary of 20 years of Seth Godin. Yes, it’s amazing that his Permission Marketing was published 20 years ago (May 1999). The concept has come a long way.
The beauty of this book is that Seth includes many of todays experts. I particularly like that he includes Steve Blank and Yves Pigneur in the reading list.
The only downside to this book is that it encapsulates sooooo much work. His blog manifesto style is great if one (like me) has read most of the 4 page long recommended reading list.
One More Thing — It was so cool to see UBC alumni Fraser Larock listed in the Acknowledgements section.
